Crazy Fast, and Free, Power Leveling Guide! Destiny 2 Alt-Leveling Guide. Don’t Waste Money On Boosters!!

Bungie’s Power Level Boost is over priced, and we here have a free method to put it to shame. Read on for the guide!

By Scuttle Gamez

Destiny 2 developer Bungie recently started selling power level boosts for a retail price of 20$. The boost is only available to secondary characters, meaning you need to have a high level character already in the game to even purchase this booster.

Well, had the service been offered to new players it might have been worth it. But, we here at Scuttle Gamez have a guide for fast power level boosting that’s free of charge, and specifically made for leveling alts in the first place.

Step One:

  • Level a Character as High as You Can.

Hitting 950 on a character is a challenge, but it’s by no means impossible. Up to 900 just play the game. You can spend crucible tokens with Lord Shaxx to make this process go faster, but it’s really not too much of a slog.

After hitting 900 for the first time, focus on powerful reward drops and challenges. There are quite a few available in the game these days, and you just need to grind it out.

Step Two:

  • Transfer High Level Weapons to Alt-Character
  • Buy Collections Gear

Once you have a high level character, the first step is to make whatever alt you want and get them to as close to 900 power as you can.

To do this, send your high level non-class specific gear to your new character. That will give you a bit of a boost, but nowhere near 900.

The next step is easy. Open up your collections page on that new character. Head to the armor section, and look for leveling gear. Buy leveling gear for each armor slot. You’ll notice a boost right away, but we’re not done yet. Keep buying!

As you buy, you’ll notice that the gear is going up in item level a few points with ever new purchase. This is because each item increases your overall power, and since you have high level weapons equipped, the gear will slowly progress high and higher before hitting a cap at around 840 – 850.

Don’t forget! You don’t need to equip the gear to gain increasing rewards, but they do need to be in your inventory. Make sure what you buy is not going to your mail box.

Step Three

  • Collect Season Gear

Now that you’re nearing 900, stop buying from collections and navigate over to this season’s leveling and reward screen. If you have the season pass, you should have an item pack called the “Premium – Your Class Name – Rewards.”

Grab the Premium Rewards box for an instant full set of season gear, boosting you up a big jump and over 900 power level.

From there, just snatch up every piece of season gear you’ve available from your season leveling bar. Each will jump you up a good solid bit, and depending on your season level, you’ll end up somewhere near item power 945 – 950 by time you’re done.

Step Four

  • Rinse and Repeat, As Needed!

Seriously, that’s it. You had to do the work to get your initial character to a high level, but once that’s done, using this method you’re gold. No reason to spend time or money on leveling alts.

I don’t know if Bungie messed up and will be patching this later, or if they just figured some folks will buy the item level boost regardless, but either way, now that you know this method you can stay clear and do it the free way.
